Vibration felt-at-level
An opt-in task where the phone buzzes at different strengths and you say if you feel it. It records only the level you felt, never a sensation threshold, and never tells you your sensation is intact.
⚠ This is NOT a sensation test and NOT a foot check. A phone cannot check your sensation validly. See a clinician for anything to do with numbness or your feet.
Experimental check-in task — not a cleared or approved medical device. This task is off by default and opt-in only. It records a neutral level measurement for you to keep and share. It will never tell you your sensation is intact or your feet are fine, and it never diagnoses. Only a clinician can assess sensation.
What this task looks at
The phone drives its own buzzer at a range of own-authored strengths, going up and down a ladder, and at each one you report whether you felt it. It is a demonstration task, not a sensation test.
What you'll do
After an explicit warning and opt-in, you tap "felt" or "not felt" for each buzz. A persistent warning stays on screen throughout.
What it records
- Felt-at-level — the level on the ladder at which you reported feeling the buzz, as an experimental measurement.
This is shown with the experimental label and the standing warning. It is a level number only.
What it does not do
It does not give a vibration perception threshold. It does not say your sensation is intact, normal, or that your feet are fine — it can't, so it never does. If a result looks concerning, Lantern points you to seek prompt clinical advice rather than reassuring you.
Not the same as
This is an original, own-authored task. It is not and is not equivalent to a 128 Hz tuning fork, a biothesiometer, or vibration perception threshold (VPT) testing. It is never a substitute for a monofilament, tuning-fork, or foot check.
⚠ Not a sensation or foot test. Experimental, opt-in only, not a cleared or approved medical device. Records a neutral measurement only — no diagnosis, no interpretation, and never reassurance about your sensation. See a clinician.

Each task records one kind of neutral measurement — for reflection and conversation with a clinician, never a diagnosis.
