Hold-still
A short task that records how steady the phone is while you hold it — recorded as neutral motion measurements to keep and share, never a rating or a result.
Experimental check-in task — not a cleared or approved medical device. This task records neutral measurements for you to keep and share. It does not rate you, does not say what any number means, and does not diagnose. Only a clinician can interpret it.
What this task looks at
This task looks at steadiness — how much the phone moves while you hold it still. It uses the phone's motion sensors to record small movements.
What you'll do
You'll do two short holds: holding the phone out in front of you, and resting it supported. Each lasts only a few seconds. A Stop button is always available.
What it records
Neutral motion measurements from the phone's accelerometer and gyroscope, for each hold:
- Dominant movement frequency — in hertz (Hz), i.e. how many small oscillations per second.
- Movement amplitude — a size-of-movement figure (accelerometer RMS).
Each is shown with its units and the method version used, plus a short note on what the task looked at. These describe the phone's movement only.
What it does not do
It does not tell you whether any movement is a tremor, what type it might be, or whether it's significant. It records motion numbers; your clinician interprets them.
Not the same as
This is an original, own-authored task. It is not and is not equivalent to clinical tremor assessments such as TETRAS or MDS-UPDRS tremor items, or a clinician's tremor rating. Those are licensed or clinician-performed; this task does not reproduce them.
