Timed transitions
A short movement task — sit-to-stand, a there-and-back walk, or rising from the floor — that records neutral timings to keep and share, never a mobility score or a result.
Experimental check-in task — not a cleared or approved medical device. This task records neutral measurements for you to keep and share. It does not score you, does not say what any number means, and does not diagnose. Only a clinician can interpret it.
What this task looks at
This task looks at timed everyday movements — how long simple transitions take, like standing up from a chair a few times, walking a short there-and-back, or rising from the floor.
What you'll do
You choose one of three variants: sit-to-stand five times, a short timed up-and-go, or a rise-from-floor. The phone is held or worn. Before you start, Lantern reminds you to find a safe space, suggests having someone with you if helpful, and says to skip it if you've had recent falls. A Stop button is always available.
What it records
Neutral timing measurements from the phone's sensors and timer:
- Per-phase durations — how long each part of the movement took (in seconds, s).
- Total time — the overall time for the task (in seconds, s).
- Transition count — the number of movements completed (a count).
Each is shown with its units and the method version used, plus a short note on what the task looked at. These describe timing only.
What it does not do
It does not tell you whether your mobility is good, poor, normal, or a sign of anything. It records timing numbers; your clinician interprets them.
Not the same as
This is an original, own-authored task. It is not and is not equivalent to the clinical Timed Up and Go (TUG) or the Five Times Sit-to-Stand (5×STS). This task does not reproduce them.
